Sales Tax & Exemptions
When we charge sales tax
We collect sales tax on orders shipped to states where we are registered to collect it, at that state's rate. Local-pickup orders are taxed at our location. In some states shipping charges are taxable too. The tax is shown at checkout before you pay.
Buying tax-exempt
If you're buying for resale or are otherwise exempt (for example a government agency or a qualifying non-profit):
- Create an account (or log in).
- On your account page, enter your certificate or permit number and upload a copy (PDF or image).
- We review it, usually within one business day, and email you once it's approved.
After approval, orders placed while you're logged in are not charged sales tax. If your certificate has an expiration date, we'll stop applying the exemption after that date until you upload a new one.
